As a tutor, I tailor my English lessons to each individual student, based on their specific learning needs and personal interests. I find a more personal approach is more effective in sparking curiosity, participation, and engagement. I have plenty of personal and professional experience with the English language, having lived (for work and study) in the US and England. I have taught at different levels and ages – I have had students raging from 9 to 16 years of age, and I have almost 4 years’ experience as a private tutor, teaching UKiSET, 9+, 11+, 13+, Verbal Reasoning, Creative Writing, IELTS, Interview prep, ESL (English as a second language). Lessons are detailed, and focus on exam technique, while also developing and improving skills in areas such as grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, as well as speaking and pronunciation. I try to create a comfortable and fun learning environment, where students can be themselves, express their ideas and opinions, as well as ask questions – but most importantly, not to be afraid of making mistakes!
